LIDC Hoping to Turn Things around With Business Plan
The Labrador Inuit Capital Strategy Trust has approved a business plan for the LIDC which may see things turning around for the company.
James Thorbourne is the General Manager of the LIDC.
He says this is the first time a business plan has been drafted with this level of detail.
The plan aims to make use of the various assets the LIDC has.
They will be assessing the amount of stone that can be quarried at 10-mile Bay.
The assessment will assist the LIDC in creating a plan for the quarry’s future.
They will also examine what use they can make of the heavy equipment at the site while the plant is out of operation.
Thorbourne says the plan will also examine the internal system within the LIDC.
The LIDC has also partnered with CAI Logistics to deliver marine services to the North coast of Labrador.
Ongoing projects include the operation of Post Mill Lumber, their barges and tugboats and the base camp at the Torngat Mountains National Park.
Stay tuned to AtjiKangitut to hear about the LIDC’s business plan in detail.
