New Multipurpose Centre Included in Nain’s Capital Works Projects

A new multi-purpose center will be constructed in Nain this summer as part of the community’s capital works projects.

Dasi Ikkusek is the Nain Inuit Community Government’s Town Manager.

Ikkusek says the center will house a number of services such as a fitness centre, a large kitchen, space for community gatherings, a youth centre, radio station, community hall and much more.

The Inuit Community Government is still working on the location for the new facility.

A new garage will also be constructed as part of Nain’s capital works projects.

It will be attached to the current garage and house a dog pound.

The second phase of work at Trouser Lake will be carried out this summer.

The Husky Centre and baseball field will also be upgraded as part of the capital works projects.
