Nunatsiavut Consumers Paying Less at the Pumps than Central Labrador
Nunatsiavut consumers are now paying less for gasoline than those in central Labrador.
Gas prices rose by 2.4-2.5 cents throughout the province yesterday.
Consumers in central Labrador are now paying nearly $1.42 per litre of gasoline.
The price of gasoline has been frozen at nearly $1. 40 per litre on the north coast since November.
Although we’re currently seeing savings at the pumps for the time being, it may be bad news come shipping season.
The price of gasoline on the north coast will be adjusted once suppliers are able to ship fuel into the communities.
North coast residents generally pays around 21 cents more per litre of gasoline than our central counterparts.
The price of gasoline in this region would likely be around $1.63 per litre if the price were adjusted today.
