Nunatsiavut Consumers Paying Less than the Rest of Province for Gasoline
Consumers in Nunatsiavut are now paying less for gasoline than the those in the rest of the province.
The price of gasoline increased by 0.1 to 0.2 cents per litre across the province today.
That is, of course, with the exception of the north coast of Labrador where the price remains frozen.
Nunatsiavut consumers are paying nearly $1.40 per litre of gasoline with the price freeze in effect.
Communities on the south coast of Labrador who receive their gasoline by tanker also have their prices frozen at the same amount.
Although this is reason to celebrate right now, it could be pretty bad news come shipping season when the price freeze is lifted.
Nunatsiavut consumers paid on average 21 cents more per litre of gasoline than central Labrador without the price freeze in effect.
The price of gasoline in central Labrador is now $1.45 per litre.
We could potentially be paying around $1.66 per litre of gasoline if the price freeze was lifted today.
