Research Taking Place on Inuksuit in Nunatsiavut
Some interesting research is being conducted on Inuksuit in Nunatsiavut.
Jamie Brake is an Archeologist for the Nunatsiavut Government.
He says the research includes interviewing people who have knowledge on the stone markers.
Brake says a researcher has been travelling to Nunatsiavut communities conducting the research.
They hope the information gathered will help younger generations understand what exactly Inuksuit are.
They also hope to determine the meanings of the different types of the stone markers.
Brake says the collected information collected will be kept at the Torngasok Cultural Center.
Stay tuned to AtjiKangitut to hear Brake discuss the Inuksuit project in detail.
