Russell Not Requesting a Recount

Outgoing Member of Parliament for Labrador, Todd Russell, will not request a recount of last week’s federal election results.

According to CBC, Russell feels the margin is too large to request a recount.

The possibility of a recount was being considered by the outgoing MP this week following the publication of revised election results by Elections Canada.

The revised results showed a margin of 79 votes between the Liberal candidate and Conservative Peter Penashue.

That was a big difference from the initial results which showed a 231 vote lead for Penashue.

According to CBC, Russell is now searching for a job.
