Torngasok Cultural Centre Hosts Storyline Meeting on New Facility

The Torngasok Cultural Centre hosted a storyline meeting last week to discuss the concept for their new facility.

Dave Lowe is the Director of the centre.

He says their new facility is being constructed in partnership with Parks Canada.

The two parties met last week to discuss the storyline of the future Cultural Centre.

The new facility will replace the former Torngasok Cultural Centre which was lost to a fire in Nain in March, 2005.

Lowe says the centre will be more than just a building.

He says the facility will tell the story of Labrador Inuit.

Resource people such as an exhibit planner we’re also on hand to help shape the vision for the centre.

The Cultural Centre has a projected completion date of early-2014.

Stay tuned to OK Radio to hear what we can expect for the new centre.
