Woodrow Decision Expected to be Made During Nain Court Circuit this Week
Provincial Court is in session in Nain this week.
The Court Circuit arrived in the community yesterday.
Sergeant Cal Barter is with the Nain RCMP detachment.
He says Judge John Joy is presiding over the proceedings this week.
Among the cases is that of James Woodrow.
A decision is expected to be made on the case this Thursday.
Woodrow is facing one charge of forcible confinement and one assault charge.
The charges stem from an incident involving a Nain woman, Audrey Nochasak, in May, 2009.
Woodrow was stationed in Nain with the RCMP at the time.
Around 20 other cases will also be heard this week.
The Court Circuit finishes on Friday.
