Facebook Group Dedicated to Food Issues Receiving a Lot of Attention

A Facebook group dedicated to food issues on the North coast of Labrador has been receiving a lot of attention.

Nora Ford of Nain created the group ‘Food Subsidy and Food Issues on the North Coast’.

She says she created the group because she’s fed up with the expensive and often outdated food found in stores on the North coast.

She hopes people use it as a means to monitor the price and quality of the food provided by retailers on the North coast.

The group has exploded since being created just last week.

As of this morning the group had 434 members.

People have been posting pictures of food found in the stores.

The wall of the group already has 80 posts detailing issues people have with the quality and price of the food.

Ford says she’s taken back by the amount of interest the group has gained in such a short amount of time.

She adds that the group is open and urges people to join and share their thoughts and concerns.
