First Catch of the Season Landed at the Makkovik Plant

The first load of crab was landed at the Makkovik fish plant Tuesday.

Junior Andersen is the plant’s Production Manager.

He says two crab boats landed their catch at the plant Tuesday.

One vessel was carrying 21,000 pounds of crab while the other had 12,000 pounds.

Andersen says they’re expecting two other crab boats to land their catches in the next couple of days.

59 employees are busy processing the crab.

Andersen says they’re mainly from Nain and Makkovik.
