Gas Prices Fall as Price Freeze Lift Quickly Approaches

Gas prices have fallen again as the lifting of the price freeze quickly approaches.

The price of gasoline decreased by 1 to 1.1 cents per litre across the province Thursday.

Consumers in central Labrador are now paying almost $1.38 per litre of gasoline.

The price at the pumps in Nunatsiavut was, on average, 21 cents more per litre than central Labrador without the price freeze in effect.

We might have possibly seen an increase of around 19 cents to a price of almost $1.60 per litre of gasoline if the price freeze was lifted Thursday.

The price of stove oil, on the other hand, saw an increase of around 1.1 cents per litre.

The price of fuels will be adjusted once suppliers are able to ship fuels into the communities.

That date is quickly approaching with the arrival the Northern Ranger to several ports on the North coast this week.
