Historical Strategy on Inuit Education Released
A national strategy on Inuit education was released by Inuit Tapiriit kanatami Thursday.
‘First Canadians, Canadians First: The National Strategy on Inuit Education’ aims to graduate more Inuit students and transform the education system in Inuit regions across Canada.
Nunatsiavut Government Minster of Education and Economic Development, Susan Nochasak, helped introduce the strategy.
She says the strategy sets out 10 core investments.
This is the first time that national goals for Inuit education have ever been set.
The provincial government and the Labrador School Board also played a part in developing the strategy.
