Hopedale Homes Reconnected To Water Supply

Seven homes in Hopedale are connected to the community’s fresh water supply again after going over five months without the service.

Wayne Piercy is the AngajukKak of the Hopedale Inuit Community Government.

He says the homes were left without running water since February when one of the lines had frozen.

The community government had been delivering water to those homes from February to July.

The HICG was able to supply the homes with fresh water using a hose in July.

Piercy says the line finally thawed at the beginning of this month connecting the seven homes to the community’s fresh water supply again.

He adds the problem seems to have been caused by a faulty joiner on the waterline.
