Hopedale Residential School Survivors Sharing Their Stories
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada is hearing from residential school survivors in Hopedale.
Marjorie Flowers is the Team Leader for the Department of Health and Social Development in the community.
She says the hearings began Thursday morning at their office.
They are open to survivors and the public alike.
Flowers says six residential school survivors shared their stories this morning.
The hearings run until Thursday evening.
A community feast with live entertainment is scheduled to take place following the hearings.
A second day of hearings is also scheduled to take place on Friday.
