Makkovik and Postville to Receive Potable Water Dispensing Units
The communities of Makkovik and Postville will each receive potable water dispensing units.
Herb Jacque is Makkovik’s AngajukKâk.
He says the units will be used to store a supply of fresh water.
Residents will be able to access the water manually.
Jacque says the unit will come in handy when boil water advisories are called.
Postville and Makkovik are among eleven communities in the province to receive the potable water dispensing units.
The cost of constructing the units will be between $325,000 and $350,000.
90 percent of that cost will be covered by the provincial government.
The Inuit community governments will foot the bill for the remainder of the cost.
