MUN Introduces New Scholarships for Aboriginal Students
Aboriginal students who are planning to attend the Memorial University of Newfoundland this fall have a chance to receive new entrance scholarships specifically for them.
The initiative comes as part of the university’s commitment to respond to the needs of aboriginal students and communities.
MUN President, Dr. Gary Kachanoski, dropped by our studio Thursday morning.
He says the new scholarships were identified as one of 22 recommendations made by the university’s Presidential Task Force on Aboriginal Initiatives.
The recommendations aim to increase the success of aboriginal students of all ages.
They will be implemented over the next two years.
