MV Northern Ranger Begins Service to Labrador

The MV Northern Ranger will make its first trip of the season Wednesday.

The vessel will depart Lewisporte for Black Tickle, Cartwright, Rigolet and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

This is the first trip the MV Northern Ranger will make since coming under the management of CAI Nunatsiavut Marine.

The vessel will begin its southern Labrador route, from Happy Valley-Goose Bay to Rigolet, Cartwright and Black Tickle, on Friday.

Freight will be accepted at the Goose Bay terminal on Thursday.

The MV Northern Ranger and MV Dutch Runner will make their way to ports as far as Nain when the ice conditions allow.

This is the first year the MV Dutch Runner will be used for freight delivery on the North coast.

The vessel is newer and has a greater freight capacity than the vessel it replaces, the MV Astron.
