Nain Marathon Runner Still Recovering After Completing Army Run
A Nain marathon runner is still recovering after completing the Army Run in Ottawa on Sunday.
Heather Angnatok completed the 21.1 kilometre half marathon with a time of two hours, 24 minutes and 17 seconds.
Angnatok was one of around 16,000 participants who competed in the fastest growing running event in Canada.
She represented the Newfoundland and Labrador Canadian Rangers at the Army Run.
The route took the runners through the streets of Ottawa around the Rideau Canal.
Angnatok trained five days a week for five months for the event.
She says it was quite a difference running on the paved streets of Ottawa compared to the gravel streets of Nain.
The runner says she took a beating from the marathon and was still recovering on Wednesday.
