Nain’s Water Supply Back to Normal

Things are back to normal for Nain residents with the lifting of the boil water order last week.

Tony Andersen is the AngajukKak of the Nain Inuit Community Government.

He says the community’s boil water order was lifted on Friday.

The NICG is expecting to receive some custom parts this week which may be used to pump fresh water from a different water supply.

Andersen says this method may be taken if the condition of the water worsens again.

A hard rainfall could cause the water to decrease in quality.

Andersen says he was satisfied with the response from the provincial Department of Municipal Affairs.

The department came to the aid of Nain providing bottled water.

They also provided an engineer and funds for the purchase of needed equipment.

Budgell’s Equipment and Rentals is expected to resume work on the Trouser Lake reservoir in the near future.
