Passenger Sees Improvements to Northern Ranger

The MV Northern Ranger made its way to Rigolet, Makkovik and Postville this week.

This is the first time the vessel visited ports on the North coast since coming under the management of CAI-Nunatsiavut Marine.

Sherry Wolfrey of Rigolet was one of the Northern Ranger’s first passengers of the season.

She says there have been a lot of changes on the vessel.

Wolfrey says those changes include renovations to the vessel’s floors, public washrooms and seating area.

She says there’s a big difference in the service on the Ranger as well.

She noted the friendliness of the vessel’s staff.

Wolfrey says the stewards offer water and ice during the day and evenings to the passengers on board.

She says the food is better and less costly than last season as well.

Residents of Rigolet, Makkovik, Postville and Happy Valley-Goose Bay can get a first hand view of the Northern Ranger’s improvements now.

The vessel will make its way to ports further along the coast when the ice conditions allow.
