Some New Faces in the Schools This Fall

The Labour Day weekend marks the end of summer holidays for students returning to school.

There will be some new faces in the schools on the north coast of Labrador.

Bruce Vey is the Director of Education for the Labrador School Board.

He says there will be two new additions to staff at the Jens Haven Memorial School in Nain.

A homeroom teacher and a music teacher will join the other staff at the school.

Two new teachers will begin teaching this month at the Amos Comenius Memorial School in Hopedale.

Makkovik’s John Christian Erhardt Memorial School is welcoming four new teachers.

Liz Evans-Mitchell is the new Principal for JCEM.

One new teacher will be joining the staff at the B.L Morrison School in Postville.

There will be no new teachers this year at Rigolet’s Northern Lights Academy.

Vey says the schools open for students on Wednesday, September 7.

The teachers will prepare for the students a day earlier on Tuesday, September 6.
