Take Charge Save Energy Program in Labrador
Summer-hill Environmental LTD from Toronto and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro are working together to try and teach Hydro’s customers to save energy and therefore save money on their Hydro bills.
Rosalie Sawrie and Katina Kominos are with Summer-hill Environmental LTD.
They were in Nain recently to hire and train four local people for the Hydro’s Take Charge/Save Energy Program.
The four employees will be going house to house to teach local people how to save energy.
They will have an energy saving kit for each participant, which is worth ninety dollars.
The kit is free and consists of items such as insulation for water pipes, water saving kitchen taps, and plastic for windows among other things.
Sawrie and Kominos says there will be an information session about this program on Thursday evening at 7PM at the Community Hall.
They invite and encourage homeowners and businesses to attend this information session. There will be prizes given out.
People will also be given a chance to sign up for the program.
People who sign up will have their names collected and after the program is completed there will be four draws and each winner will receive a fifty dollar gift certificate.
