Ten Mile Bay Operations
The Ten Mile Bay quarry site near Nain will be operating for a few weeks this season.
Chris Webb is the Assistant General Manager of the Labrador Inuit Development Corporation.
He says a small crew will be conducting an exploration drill to look for better anorthasite rock at the site.
Webb says LIDC has purchased two drills and they should have arrived within three weeks.
Depending on the quality of rock drilled the quarry will stay open for six weeks.
He says two of the quarry masters and three assistants will be at Ten Mile Bay.
The tentative date to start operation is on the third week of August.
