Two Separate Fires Claim Three Establishments in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Two separate fires claimed three different establishments in Happy Valley-Goose Bay over the weekend.

Sergeant Guy Caines is with the HV-GB RCMP detachment.

He says they responded to a fire on Hamilton River Road at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The fire was already burning intensely when they arrived on the scene.

The blaze claimed two businesses housed in the same complex.

Pizza Delight and a tattoo shop were completely burned by the fire.

Another fire ignited at another location just before midnight on Sunday.

That building was occupied by the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.

The blaze completely claimed that building as well.

A broken window was discovered by RCMP when they first arrived on the scene.

Caines says the cause of both fires is still unknown.

An investigator from the Office of the Fire Commissioner in St. John’s is scheduled to arrive in HV-GB this evening.
