Heritage Forum Taking Place in Hopedale

A Heritage Forum is being held in Hopedale this week.

Representatives from the five Inuit communities and the Upper Lake Melville are in the community to take part in the discussion.

Jamie Brake is an Archeologist for the Nunatsiavut Government.

He says the forum gives representatives from the region an opportunity to discuss the various heritage projects that are taking place.

The participants will be given the opportunity to share ideas and funding opportunities.

Challenges, issues, concerns and priorities around this region’s heritage projects will also be discussed.

Representatives from the provincial and Nunatsiavut governments will also be on hand for the forum.

Brake says it is open to the public if anybody in the community would like to come out.
