Next Step Being Taken in Lower Churchill Environmental Review
The Joint Review Panel on the proposed Lower Churchill project is now in the process of compiling a report on what was discussed during their public hearings.
The compilation of the report is the next step in the project’s environmental review process.
Lucille Jamault is a Spokesperson for the panel.
She says the report will contain what was said during the public hearings.
The hearings took the Joint Review Panel all over Labrador during a month and a half period.
Nain, Rigolet, North West River and Happy Valley-Goose Bay were among the communities the panel heard from.
Jamault says everything that was said during the public hearings can be accessed by the public online.
The Joint Reviews Panel’s report will be submitted to the federal and provincial Environment and Conservation Ministers.
The information contained in the report will be taken into consideration when the project is either given the green light or rejected.
The report is due no later than July 14, 2011.
It will also be made available to the public.
