Big Scare for Passengers of an Air Labrador Flight
Passengers of an Air Labrador flight had quite a frightening experience Wednesday morning.
One of the emergency windows detached and blew inside of the aircraft shortly after takeoff.
Heather Lampe of Nain was one of the passengers aboard the mission flight.
She says the aircraft left Happy Valley-Goose for Nain Wednesday morning.
Less than five minutes into the flight one of the emergency windows detached hitting Lampe in the face.
Lampe says she and other passengers in the back of the aircraft began yelling “mayday” and asking for the pilots to turn back.
The pilots heard the frightened calls and were able to turn around and land safely again at the Goose Bay airport.
Lampe says it was an extremely frightening experience.
The passengers of the flight were waiting for the emergency exit’s window to be repaired before they attempted the flight again when we spoke with Lampe Wednesday morning.
Our calls to Air Labrador were not returned.
