Site Testing Planned for New Torngâsok Cultural Centre
There is a lot of infrastructure that will be constructed in Nain in the near future.
Included in the future facilities is the new Torngâsok Cultural Centre.
Johannes Lampe is the Minister of Culture, Recreation and Tourism for the Nunatsiavut Government.
He says the new facility will replace the former centre which was lost in a fire in March, 2005.
Lampe says they’re planning to carry out testing at the site of the new centre this fall.
The planned site is along the shore behind the Northern Store.
The estimated cost of the new facility is projected at around $5 million.
