Youth Symposium Postponed Again
The 2011 Labrador Inuit Youth Symposium has been postponed again.
The symposium was originally set to take place at the beginning of May.
It was postponed until the summer at that time because of conflicts with student’s exam schedules.
The symposium is now rescheduled for the fall.
Sandra Dicker is the Youth Coordinator for the Nunatsiavut Government.
She says they decided to delay the event because many students are busy with summer employment.
The date of the youth symposium is now set for this fall in Postville.
Dicker says this year’s agenda hasn’t been confirmed yet.
There are a total of 35 seats available for the symposium.
Those seats are allocated to five youth, 15 to 25-years-old, in each of the Inuit communities as well as Happy Valley-Goose Bay and North West River.
